The native from Puyallup Washington Butler was interested in performing arts as she grew up. She sang in choruses, took part in singing competitions and performed in both high school and local theatre. While initially dissuaded by the nudity of the film and the violence, its distinctive female edge and character arc convinced her to play the character. Butler starred in Jennifer Hills as a novelist who is brutally gang-raped at a cabin while on vacation. The film was directed by Steven R. Monroe was launched in October of 2010. Butler began the filming of The Stranger Within (a psychological thriller) in Spain, Mallorca along with Estella Ward and William Baldwin back in November 2011. The film was originally planned to be shot the film in Copenhagen Denmark, New York City and New York City as well.
